The WKND cannot happen without so many selfless volunteers willing to give up their weekend to pour into the next generation! If you would like to help fill a need, there are several ways you can serve.

Host Homes- What to Expect

Must have a current background check on file with Desperation Church.

You are primarily responsible for simply opening up your home to 7-12 middle school or high students and 2 leaders for Friday Night through Sunday morning.

Transport students from your home to the campus and back for scheduled activities at the church: Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night, and Sunday morning.

You are invited to attend everything that goes on at the WKND, but are not obligated to attend anything.

We will send each home a gift card to provide breakfast for Saturday and Sunday morning. Students will eat Friday dinner, Saturday lunch, and Saturday dinner at the campus.

If you receive a Co-Host, you will have assistance with transportation and breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.

You are responsible for informing the students and leaders of household rules that need to be followed. The leaders will work with the host home family in enforcing the rules.

You are not required to lead any Bible studies or community groups, but can participate during these times.

Leaders need to come to The WKND having already planned their community group sessions. Curriculum will be given to you two weeks so you can prepare. We wholeheartedly believe that the more you prepare the more effective you will be.

Leaders will reference the interactive student books throughout the weekend and make sure students keep up with them during the small and large group sessions for notetaking.

Leaders are responsible for making sure their students are on time for sessions/activities.
